Gov. Rick Perry won something from the Republican primary: the craziest quote.

Of all the slips, rants and awkward sound bites, Perry?s ill-fated ?Oops? took the top spot of 50 on a list in a new book on the GOP race, Inside the Circus.

The full line:

At a Nov. 9 Republican debate, Perry forgot the third department he would cut. (Screenshot)

?And let?s see. I can?t. The third one, I can?t. Sorry. Oops.?

The gaffe took place last November during a GOP debate. Perry froze as he was telling the audience how he would cut the departments of Commerce, Education and, uh, ? the Department of ? Department of ?

He couldn?t remember the Department of Energy, and his poll numbers never recovered.

Perry didn?t have as many quotes on the list as Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum, but he still had five gems other than the major oops.

11. ?And you can always follow me on Tweeter?

This slip was ironic, as Perry said it at the end of a speech accepting the ?Boot Up Texas? award from RightOnline for his involvement in media activism on June 21, 2011.

17. ?The good news is, that little plan that I just shared with you doesn?t force the Granite State to expand your tax footprint. If you know what I mean. Like 9 percent expansion.?

While this quote made the top 50, the whole speech could have made the list. Last October, Perry seemed to be under the influence of something while giving a speech in New Hampshire ? his behavior was even parodied on Saturday Night Live. Inside the Circus claims Perry was on painkillers, however, in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Perry said he is naturally just an animated guy.

30. ?One of the reasons we fought the revolution in the 16th century was to get away from that kind of onerous crown.?

History nerds shake their heads ? the American Revolution began in 1775, making it the 18th century. But vocab nerds rejoice ? Perry indeed used the word ?onerous? correctly at a post-debate forum at Dartmouth College on Oct. 11, 2011.

36. ?Those who are going to be over 21 on November 12, I ask for your support. Those who won?t be, just work hard.?

Perry made this gaffe at a New Hampshire town hall on Nov. 29, 2011. For the record, 21 is the legal drinking age, 18 is the legal voting age and if you show up to the poll on November 12, you will be six days too late.

48. ?Washington has abused the Constitution. You go back to the, a decade ago, with Woodrow Wilson.?

Although this was included in the list of quotes on the campaign trail, this quote came from a CNN interview on Nov. 4, 2010. Maybe Perry should have majored in history instead of animal husbandry? Woodrow?s term ended in 1921. Or perhaps he just confused the words ?decade? and ?century.?

Rep. Ron Paul, a Republican from Lake Jackson and presidential candidate, also made the list twice ? less than any other GOP candidate still in the running.

22. ?Because he?s a fake.?

In?February, Paul told John King that the reason his campaign put out an attack ad saying Santorum was a fake was, well, because he?s a fake. A fake conservative at least.?Santorum ? who was sitting right next to Paul when he said it ? held out his hand and responded ?I?m real.?

25. ?Well, I don?t think we should go to the moon. I think we maybe should send some politicians up there.?

In January, Paul referenced Gingrich?s proposed moon-colony while responding a question about the space program at a debate in Florida.

Other quotes listed among the gaffes: Romney?s ?Corporations are people,? Gingrich?s outburst at the South Carolina debate when the first question was about his ex-wife and even Cain?s unofficial campaign slogan ?9-9-9.?

Not all of Perry?s quips could make the list. Here are some that might have been worthy of being ?crazy,? but didn?t quite make the cut:

?I want to say it was over $500 million that went to the country Solynda.? Solyndra is a company, not a country

?When you see his appointment of two, from my perspective, inarguably activist judges whether it was ? Not Montemayor.? The actual name of the Supreme Court justice he?s referring to is? Sonia Sotomayor.

?You don?t need to be in the pews every Sunday to know there?s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can?t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in schools.? Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but the Youtube version of this Perry campaign ad currently has 765,574 dislikes (compared to 26,424 likes) and the comments have been disabled. That?s more dislikes than Rebecca Black?s ?Friday.?
